Workshop One: Super-Resilience for the Reluctant Superhero
May 28, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM

Workshop Two: When Change is Inevitable, Creative Wins the Day
June 4, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM

Times are a changin my friend – and there are so many questions. How long will it last? What comes next? How will we survive this? As people seeking to make a difference, these questions can drain us OR inspire us. (Depends on the day, doesn’t it?)

These two practical and energizing workshops are about getting more of the good days, first by learning where true resilience lives and how to tap it as you need it, and second by getting creative at a whole new level (can you say re-invent?) in the way we respond to rapidly changing human needs.

Who is this for? You. Individuals and teams. Young and old. Public and private. Community-based, faith-based, law enforcement, educators, CEOs, EDs, management teams, front line staff, community members, entrepreneurs, social workers, medical professionals… We may each be in different boats, but we’re all in the same storm. Let’s learn from each other!

Workshop One: Super-Resilience for the Reluctant Superhero
May 28, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM

More than ever, you are called on to inspire, save the day, and know what to do (as if!) – all while struggling to care for yourself as well as you care for others. In this how-to/let’s do session, you will gain new tools to overcome compassion fatigue, tap fresh sources of energy, stay true to yourself – and give yourself a freakin’ break! We’ll go way beyond “breathe deep and get exercise.” Resilience is about making conscious choices, even when the world appears to be making them for you.

Workshop Two: When Change is Inevitable, Creative Wins the Day
June 4, 2020 from 10 AM to 12 PM

Is there really opportunity in the midst of this chaos? How can we be adaptable when we’re overwhelmed or hanging by a thread? What if it doesn’t work? (And what if it does?)

In this very practical (and equally energizing) session, we’ll explore what it takes to truly lead in the face of uncertainty:

CCourage + Creativity
OOpenness (and Open Eyes) + Opportunity
VVulnerability + Vision
I –  Intuition + Integrity (“the condition of being unified or sound in construction”)
DDesign + a little bit of the divine

You’ll walk away with new ideas, the ability to see more of what’s possible, and with more confidence to take smart risks with big payoff, even as you keep your mission and vision front and center.

Our presenter: Chris Trout has been exploring resilience and strengths across diverse populations for more than four decades. A national speaker and writer, he has that rare ability to reach people through both head and heart, moving effortlessly from foundational concepts to the powerful stories that speak directly to our human experience. “He’s the support that most of want and need to take the risks necessary to thrive.” ~ Derek Peterson, International Child/Youth Advocate

Location: Online Zoom session, including break-out sessions and Q&A.

Price: We need each other right now and cost shouldn’t be the reason you can’t participate. Please pay what you can.  Suggested amount: $20 per session.
