Local Organizations and Volunteers to be celebrated at Community Breakfast
SKOWHEGAN, ME – Heart of Maine United Way (HoMEUW), a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives in Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo and Washington counties will host Somerset Champions: United in Purpose on Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 8:30-10 AM at T&B’s Celebration Center in Skowhegan.
Heart of Maine United Way will highlight the invaluable contributions of businesses and organizations that have partnered to improve lives across Somerset County. This event also marks the kickoff of HoMEUW’s Somerset County fundraising campaign to continue making a positive impact in the region.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizations, donors, and volunteers who have played a vital role in supporting our work in Somerset County,” said HoMEUW President and CEO, Shirar Patterson. “We know the need is great across the Heart of Maine, and these organizations have helped to start to meet that need.”

In addition, Heart of Maine United Way will also present a distinguished volunteer award to Michael & Donna Cray, who have been pivotal in supporting the “Fill The Bus” school supply drive in Palmyra.
The Somerset Champions event is generously sponsored by Skowhegan Savings Bank. The event will begin with a networking breakfast from 8:30-9:30, followed by an engaging program and awards presentation starting at 9:30.
