Start a Workplace Campaign.
Heart of Maine United Way raises funds each year to support six counties in the heart of Maine, helping strengthen our community and the people who live here. We raise donations and distribute funding to agencies that offer health and human services to improve the lives of everyone in our community. The majority of these funds are raised through workplace campaigns.
Benefits of United Way Workplace Campaign
Increased employee morale
Organizations that run annual employee campaigns document higher morale, teamwork, and sense of purpose. Employees learn about services provided by United Way and work together to plan and engage in fun activities to raise money as a company: auctions, raffles, games, and special incentives for givers, like jeans day or parking in an executive parking space.
A stronger region
When our neighbors have their basic needs met, kids get a strong start, and people can access recovery support, the whole region benefits. A stronger community means a more reliable workforce, less strain on local systems, and more room for your business to grow.

Your gift to Heart of Maine United Way stays local to support some of the best local health and human service programs in our six-county region. Your gift funds childcare and early learning programs, food and housing assistance, substance use prevention and recovery support, and so much more.

Heart of Maine United Way ensures that your money funds quality nonprofit agencies to address the most important community needs. Through our Community Impact Committee, volunteers from across the region review agency budgets, programs and outcomes to ensure that our dollars have the most impact.

Efficient Organization
For every $1 invested in Heart of Maine United Way, we are able to return more than $4 to our region through food donations, volunteer hours, heating assistance, grants and contracts. Give a Corporate Gift
Corporate gifts are a powerful way to demonstrate your organization’s commitment to the community. Corporate gifts can be made through our online donation form or sent by check to 700 Mount Hope Ave Suite 101, Bangor, ME, 04401.
Hold a Special Event
Many local companies hold special event fundraisers for Heart of Maine United Way. Some ideas include bake sales, candy sales, cook-outs, pocket change wars, garage sales or golf tournaments. Sponsorships
Sponsorships are a great way to put your business’s name behind work that matters to our region, while gaining visibility with employees, customers, and the broader community. Through Neighbors United, HoMEUW regularly organizes supply drives for everything from diapers and wipes to food and school supplies.
