ELAINE THOMAS
Senior Manager of Community Impact
Elaine is the Senior Manager of Community Impact at Heart of Maine United Way. While earning her B.S. in Business Administration in Management from the University of Maine, she served as a Grant Assistant/Community Impact Intern for HoMEUW and loved the team so much she wanted to come back! She is grateful for the opportunity to invest in the community she grew up in.
Before joining HoMEUW, Elaine worked in economic development as the Microenterprise Development Program Manager of New Ventures Maine in Portland. She has volunteered and interned for several wonderful community organizations including Partners for Peace, the American Red Cross, and Literacy Volunteers of Bangor. She is currently the treasurer for the Maine Music Teachers Association and manages the student sponsorship program for an NGO in Haiti.
In her free time, Elaine enjoys taking her dog Wendell for walks, visiting the ocean, and trying new vegetarian recipes.
