Northern Light Health – Chief Community Health And Grants Officer
Doug is the Chief Community Health and Grants Officer at Northern Light Health where he leads team efforts to build community partnerships, leverage strategic resources, and deliver impactful health initiatives in coordination with healthcare, community and public health partners.
Prior to joining Northern Light Health, Doug served as executive director of Healthy Acadia, a charitable organization serving Maine’s rural Hancock and Washington counties. Through his leadership at Healthy Acadia, Doug fostered strong community relationships and mobilized collective action resulting in improved health and quality of life in rural communities. Doug s served as president of Voyageurs, a global travel network providing cultural and ecological learning and community partnership director at Mount Desert Island Hospital.
Doug enjoys working with others on community improvement, and currently serves on the board of the Maine Public Health Association and the Maine State Coordinating Council for Public Health. A native New Englander, Doug is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and the New York Medical College, where he earned his Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Health Policy and Management. Doug and his family live in Bar Harbor.
