BANGOR, ME – Heart of Maine United Way (HoMEUW), a non-profit organization working to improve lives in Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo and Washington counties announced the December Giving Challenge.

Your support can make a world of difference in December. Your donation or a holiday gift made in honor of a loved one will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling its impact, up to $35,000 throughout December! Donate Here: https://homeunitedway.org/match/

Last year, the support of generous donors, made it possible to assist 119,813 people in our six-county region, but the need is growing. Every day we receive calls from people that are struggling to make ends meet. More and more of these calls are from people who have never had to ask for help

This December, Heart of Maine United Way aims to raise $70,000 toward our $1.73 Million annual goal. Thanks to generous support from Epstein Commercial Real Estate, Haley Ward, Inc., and the Means Family Foundation, every donation, regardless of size, will be matched up to $35,000.

“We are grateful to these organizations, who through their support made it possible to launch this challenge that can help so many people in our region,” said HoMEUW President and CEO Shirar Patterson. “We know the need is great across the Heart of Maine, and these businesses and community members, United in Purpose can help to start to meet that need.”
