Manager of Community Impact

Renee, serving as the Manager of Community Impact at Heart of Maine United Way, is all about connecting people and resources to strengthen our local nonprofit network. With a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Maine, Renee brings a genuine drive to mobilize the caring power of the community and a deep understanding of what it takes to support our neighbors.

Before joining the HoMEUW team, Renee spent several years as the Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of Brewer and worked as a Workforce Development Specialist at EMDC. Her background also includes time as an Employment Specialist at Maine Medical Center, where she focused on breaking down barriers and helping people find sustainable paths to success.

A proud 2020 graduate of the Bangor Region Leadership Institute and a member of the Leadership Maine Class of 2025 through the Maine Development Foundation, Renee has been a familiar face in regional development for years. She’s stayed busy volunteering with organizations like the Economic Development Council of Maine, where she served as Board President, and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor as Board Secretary. You’ll also find her supporting local entrepreneurs on the Big Gig steering committee.

In her role, Renee uses her extensive network and knack for coordination to strengthen the capacity of local organizations, making sure they have the tools and partnerships needed to create a lasting impact. In her downtime, she’s usually out exploring—whether she’s camping, kayaking, or checking out the newest food spots across Maine. She loves calling this region home and staying active in the community she works so hard to support..
