Basic Needs
With 42% of Mainers living below the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) threshold, our focus is on ensuring that families and individuals have access to resources, addressing food insecurity, obtaining or maintaining safe, affordable, stable housing, establishing effective support systems for those facing violence or abuse, and providing opportunities to improve financial stability—ultimately working towards achieving self-sufficiency.
Substance Use Disorder
Our objectives revolve around expanding access to the full spectrum of affordable treatment and recovery resources. Additionally, we aim to enhance prevention programming, initiate youth initiatives to boost resiliency and implement strategies to reduce stigma surrounding Substance Use Disorder.
Early Childhood Development
Our objectives are centered on increasing access to preschool and quality early childcare programs. We’re committed to ensuring that parents and caregivers are well-informed and engaged in their child’s development. Moreover, we strive to provide K-3 children with access to before and after-school activities, while fostering the delivery of quality educational experiences by providers and professionals.
Together, we are architects of change, shaping a future where every individual thrives. Join us in sustaining this momentum, making a difference, and building a future, United in Purpose. Thank you for being an integral part of the Heart of Maine United Way movement.
