Sarah returned to her New England roots in 2005 after receiving her BA in International Studies at Macalester College, an MBA and MS Development Management from American University, and working for nonprofit organizations in Vietnam, Washington, D.C., and Connecticut. Sarah also currently serves on the Board of the Gustavus and Louise Pfeiffer Research Foundation, a small family foundation, which supports the advancement of public health through medical and pharmaceutical grants. Closer to home, she graduated from the Bangor Region Leadership Institute in 2015, “The Best Class Evah!”

Sarah lives in Bangor with her husband Mitch, an English teacher at John Bapst Memorial High School. They are honored that their daughter, Maisie, chose them as her parents.
