We serve children and families by providing quality after-school, summer, and teen programming. The Club offers a safe and friendly environment where kids can be themselves, make friends, explore interests, create goals for their future and work hard to achieve them.  Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Success Stories.

Michael began attending the Boys & Girls Club when it first opened in 2014.  At that time, he was in the 4th grade. Throughout his school years, MIchael’s mom worked very hard to instill positive values and a good work ethic. She wanted to see him and his brother do well in school, explore new interests, follow their dreams, and be kind and caring human beings. His time at the club supported these aspirations, giving him access to academic enrichment, valuable new experiences, and most importantly, positive mentors who believed in and encouraged him. Living in public housing with limited resources and multiple barriers, Michael’s mom took advantage of the programs that were available to her and her children as a single mom to two boys, one of whom is on the autism spectrum and has some very high needs. While it was  challenging to work and provide for the family, let alone afford the extras such as sports and hobbies, the Club afforded her the opportunity for them both to enjoy fun activities, build great friendships, and learn life skills that could potentially change the trajectory of their lives. Michael has now come full circle. When he entered high school, he started volunteering at the Club and then later became a Junior Counselor during the summer program. Today, he works in the afterschool program around his busy and successful high school football career, and is looking at colleges and making plans for after graduation. Michael is the positive role model that he once needed in his life. He exemplifies good character, is athletic, demonstrates maturity, and brings a lot of joy and energy to the afterschool and summer program. The children at the club, especially the boys, look up to Michael and want to be just like him when they grow up!
