Common Unity Place (CUP) serves as a vital resource hub in Skowhegan, providing low-barrier access to essentials like free food, clothing, and personal care items, along with community engagement opportunities. Its Community Clothes Closet distributes over 200,000 articles of clothing annually, supporting local schools, shelters, and organizations. The CUP Cafe offers free lunches, personal care items, internet access, and connects visitors with social service providers in a welcoming setting. CUP hosts various community programs and groups, including cooking classes, support groups, and job fairs, while partnering with local agencies to expand services and volunteer opportunities.
