Serving over 300 people annually, Hope House is the only low-barrier shelter north of Waterville, providing critical support to individuals experiencing homelessness, especially those with untreated substance use or mental health challenges. Facing closure due to funding shortages, Preble Street stepped in to prevent a devastating loss of shelter beds and increased homelessness-related crises. With decades of experience operating client-centered programs, Preble Street will continue providing safety, housing navigation, and connection to healthcare and recovery services at Hope House. PCHC will maintain its medical clinic and Transitional Housing Program on the same campus, collaborating closely with Preble Street to serve this vulnerable community with coordinated care.
