The Penquis Financial Capability Program empowers individuals facing financial insecurity to better manage their money through personalized coaching, group classes, free tax preparation, and referrals to community resources. Offering one-on-one financial coaching and “train the trainer” support for community providers, the program helps participants set goals, budget, improve credit, and increase income. Group classes foster peer learning on topics like saving, credit, and banking, while free tax assistance ensures eligible participants maximize refunds and access valuable credits. Together, these services build financial knowledge, skills, and confidence to promote long-term stability and security.
